The Missouri Grand Jury is expected to release it’s decision on whether or not to recommend criminal charges against Officer Wilson in the next week or so. The aftermath of the decision, especially if the officer is acquitted, has a high probability of including violent protests and, at a minimum, civil unrest in and around the St. Louis and Ferguson areas

The committed presence of Oath Keepers could renew confrontation dangers, as group founder Stewart Rhodes had earlier cited a report of members being targeted, presumably by a federal law enforcement sniper team. Per Rhodes, such teams had not communicated with local law enforcement, let alone coordinated activities with them.

Ben Swann traveled to Ferguson and sat down with Sam Andrews, the head of the Ferguson Oath Keeper operation about what the group is doing, how police have responded to them, and why 50 armed police officers surrounded a building where the Oath Keepers were protecting businesses and told them to either leave the buildings rooftop or they would be arrested.

We had a great group of guys involved at all levels; from OSINT and COMINT collection and reporting on the front side to the intelligence analysis on the back side.  In all, we had eight guys staffing the Analysis & Control Element (ACE), which included intelligence collection.  That number doesn’t include local sources of intelligence information or the many AmRRON collectors also feeding information into the ACE.  Every single one of the intelligence collectors and analysts were volunteers.  As you’ll learn later on (and in Tuesday’s FO Podcast), they all took something away from this Operation.  They’ll all be better able to conduct Intelligence operations as a result of their work here.

11/30 2231Z – After having been informed that radio traffic was heard that Missouri State Police had allegedly apprehended 5 Oath Keepers on a roof top with long guns in St. Louis, John Jacob Schmidt contacted Stewart Rhodes, founder of Oath Keepers for a response. Here is Stewart Rhodes’ response:

No arrests, but our guys were threatened with arrest.   Cops telling our volunteers that they could not protect businesses from arson without a security guard license.  Total bull.

You might have seen them on the news. The people protecting Ferguson businesses from the arsonists and looters ransacking Ferguson, Mo. But here is the real story about the organization protecting those businesses. They’re called Oath Keepers, and they have ex-police and ex-military keeping guard of four Ferguson businesses since late Monday night, Nov. 24, at the permission of the business owners.

11/30 2126Z – ST LOUIS POST-DISPATCH – Police shut down mysterious ‘Oath Keepers’ guarding rooftops in downtown Ferguson

Police questioned group members early in the week and allowed them to stay. But Saturday, after media inquiries, St. Louis County police officers ordered the Oath Keepers to leave the rooftops.

Threatened with arrest for operating without a license, the volunteers argued but eventually left their positions early Saturday, Rhodes said.

Dozens of protesters interrupted holiday shopping in the St. Louis area late Thursday and early Friday as part of the ongoing reaction to a grand jury’s decision to not indict the Ferguson police officer who fatally shot Michael Brown this past August.

11/27 1738Z – ABC NEWS – Several Arrests Made Near Thanksgiving Day Parade

Seven protesters were arrested near the route of the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City today. The arrests came amid rumblings on social media about disrupting the parade and Black Friday to protest a Missouri grand jury’s decisions not to indict the police officer who shot Michael Brown to death.

An estimated 50 protesters gathered a block away from the parade route at the New York Public Library. Several people were arrested when they started trying to interrupt the parade, including vandalizing, breaking windows and knocking over barricades, police said.

The parade was not interrupted, and the rest of the protesters returned to the library where they are now “peacefully” protesting, according to police.

Protesters may try to disrupt the traditional Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York, news reports said.

The #stoptheparade hashtag was trending on Twitter and the New York Post reported that demonstrators had targeted the popular parade that has become a Thanksgiving tradition.

11/27 1410Z – CNN – Small group of protesters gathers but Ferguson is calm

A few dozen protesters showed up outside police headquarters in Ferguson late Wednesday night. And standing underneath a “Seasons Greetings” sign stretching over the road, they fired obscenities at National Guard members who stood on watch outside the police department’s offices.

But there were no incidents, no confrontations between the two sides. Police made just two arrests, and no injuries or damages were reported.

At least 130 demonstrators who refused to disperse during a Los Angeles protest were arrested Wednesday night, while 35 people were detained in Oakland following a march that deteriorated into unrest and vandalism, according to police officials.

After the grand jury decision in the Michel Brown case, protesters vandalized, looted, and torched local businesses in the Ferguson area. According to St. Louis County Police spokesman Brian Schellman, there were 61 arrests last night as several businesses were destroyed by fire or vandalized.

Missouri Governor Jay Nixon (D) came under political fire from his Lt. Governor Peter Kinder (R) for failing to deploy the Missouri National Guard in Ferguson before rioting got out of control. Kinder appeared on Fox News Tuesday morning with Martha MacCallum and expressed strong criticism about the Governor’s lack of action and lack of communication.

The unidentified black male was found shot and burned inside a car near Canfield apartments in the St. Louis suburb. At least 13 people were injured and more than 100 shots were fired when fierce protests erupted in the St. Louis area following a grand jury’s decision not to charge Wilson in the 18-year-old’s shooting death. The overnight riots were the worst since the Aug. 9 police killing. St. Louis’ mayor promised to increase police presence Tuesday night.

Saint Louis County Police Department is reporting an active manhunt after a University City Police Officer was shot.

Through social media, the police agency confirmed that one officer had been shot and his condition was unknown. It was not clear if the shooting was related to the protests taking place in Ferguson, Missouri, which is just 20 minutes north from University City.

Demonstrators burned buildings, cars and shut area highways down. Chief Belmar says that started to see violence immediately following the Michael Brown grand jury’s decision. He says it was the worst night of protests since August. Many officers feared for their safety since protesters were armed with guns and improvised weapons.

No shots were fired by police during violent protests that erupted in Ferguson, Missouri, on Monday night, St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said. At a 2:30 a.m. ET press conference on Tuesday, Belmar reported “a lot of gunfire” in the streets overnight. Around 12 buildings were set ablaze as the protests “spun out of control,” Belmar said. ST. LOUIS (AP) — The Federal Aviation Administration is diverting some St. Louis-bound flights to other airports because of reports of gunshots fired into the sky in Ferguson following a grand jury’s decision not to indict the white police officer who fatally shot a black 18-year-old. The FAA says about 10 flights had been rerouted from Lambert-St. Louis International Airport as of 11:30 p.m. CST Monday. At one point, protesters marched onto westbound Interstate 580, bringing traffic to a standstill. A few buildings were vandalized and two trash can fires were started, but there were no reports of injuries and minimal arrests.
