The ability to make good decisions, form sound strategies, and adapt effective tactics to fit the situation depends on good (useful) intelligence. The better the intelligence, the better the ability to make good decisions.
We receive (and appreciate) information, tips, and reports of observations and first-hand experiences from Redoubters & Patriots from all over the country on a regular basis. The difficult task is the separating of the wheat from the chaff. What’s useful, and what’s not. What to keep, what to discard. Depending on the information, use the SITREP or SPOT REPORT to send in intelligence:
What is a SITREP(Situation Report)?
It is a way to relay news, information, and updates about a developing or ongoing situation. It allows for a quick-glance look at what is being affected, and to what degree. Also will include a narrative explanation with further details, such as potential hazards, the status of communications, medical services, aid and relief, security threats, etc.
For example, in the event of a hurricane, a SITREP might include updates about power outages, looting and violence, road closures, flooded areas, possible hazardous conditions, and public safety information, such as water treatment recommendations, etc.
HOW TO SUBMIT A SITREP (SITuation REPort):
- Option A: SITREP ONLINE Form-Submit online
- Option B: SITREP PDF FILE– Printable version
- Option C: SITREP FLMSG HTML FORM- Ham Radio Digital mode/FLMSG
What is a SPOT Report?
A report of activity involving a person or group of persons which could pose a security threat to you or others. A SPOT report is based on what you or someone else observed. This is an adaptation of a military reporting format for observed enemy activity. This can be used for reporting observed criminal activity, invading military forces, or actions by an oppressive and dangerous regime. This can also be used to report movement, equipment, training, operations, or other information of intelligence value.
HOW TO SUBMIT A SPOT REPORT:
- Option A: Spot ONLINE Form-Submit online
- Option B: Spot Report PDF File– Printable version
- Option C: SPOTREP HTML FORM-Ham Radio Digital mode/FLMSG

What is the public PGP key for johnjacob@radiofreeredoubt.com?
And you do realize that NSA can still read the message.
The PGP key is for encrypted email from point to point. The NSA can probably read it, but they’re about the ONLY one’s who can, and they probably don’t care. And even if they can (or do read it), I want them to have to spend $100 BILLION dollars to be able to, even if I’m just saying “Hi” to someone in an email. =)
We will probably begin to use a “Hush Mail” account.
JJS – Any effort underway to create a mobile app for the spot report? Would be a good idea to be able to punch in a couple quick pieces of info (app could auto complete DTG and location info), snap a photo or two and hit send then have that populate a back-end database.
An app like that would make SPOT reports amazingly simple and quick. The problem is with security. The data mining and SIGINT (Signals Intelligence) that is integrated into ‘Smart’ phone technology is so pervasive (and invasive), that it would create an OPSEC situation that exceeds the cost vs. risk threshold. It’s unfortunate, but it’s the environment we’re living in, which is also the same environment that necessitates the development of things like the citizen SPOT report.
Hushmail does have a mobile access through droids, iphones, etc
Check out http://www.unseen.is for email. Hushmail legally has to keep logs (domiciled in Canada) and has been known to turn over logs by court order.
“Unseen”, however, is in Iceland where there are strict privacy laws. A basic account is free, and there is PGP, encrypted chat, and VOIP calls. A premium lifetime account is currently offered for about $79, and gets you premium storage levels, bigger chat rooms, etc.
They offer both a web client and a downloadable client for desktop as well as Android. I think an iPhone client is coming. And of course, any inter-team communication where both parties use unseen.is will stay on the servers and not traverse the internet.
I have no interest in the company. I am part of a group that uses it for partisan purposes. If you get the premium account, you can reference guerrillamerica for a discount.
Out.
JJS,
When will you have a downloadable form suitable for FLMSG?
The links above just open an H TML page where you can enter
the info and print it. Not quite what I was expecting for the
Ham/FLMSG links.
The forms look good, though.

Consider CONFIDESK – they have servers in Ireland and in Switzerland. All data is encrypted on the server – they do not have keys. Transmission over the internet using their webclient is via certificate verified HTTPS (SSL = Secure Socket Layer) which is relatively secure, but technically can be subject to a “man-in-the-middle” attack. Alternatively they have both smart phone and computer clients that operate with public and private key encryption that are more secure.

Dear OM,
as of this time there is no curfew imposed on amateur radio in Turkey. The country is now under “extraordinary circumstances law” but BTK The Communications Authority has not released any announcement about ham radio restrictions. Some local professional radio and tv stations have their licences revoked but there is no information about any restrictions for amateur radio. If I recieve any info I will share it with you. Till then 73.
