WIWT T-REX NEWS – Pentagon, Officials Denounce Chinese Sub Near Hawaii

09/08/22 (WIWT News) Pentagon officials have denounced China’s Type 093 submarine operating 200 miles north of Hawaii this week.  China’s state-ran news agency (Jiyna News Network) reports that from an interview with top Chinese military officials, the Shang-class attack submarine is being used for peaceful oceanographic sea bed research.

US officials expressed grave concern, as the nuclear powered Shang-class submarine is capable of carrying cruise missiles, as well as torpedos.  The Pentagon did not state what actions the United States is taking in response, but in a statement by the Pentagon gave assurance that the situation is “being monitored very closely.”
