Three recommended Android apps, and the way to get them:
- UV-PROgrammer
- APRSdroid
- WoAD
BTECH UV-PRO related videos are on the list of upcoming video series. However, in the interim for those of you who have acquired a UV-PRO and are trying to get the recommended .apk files, the resources below are what are highly recommended.
UV-PROGRAMMER APP and WoAD: Use Aurora (the open source alternative to G***LE Playstore
- FDROID: https://f-droid.org/
- Then, using fdroid, download and install Aurora https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.aurora.store/
Using Aurora Playstore, select the “Anonymous” user to avoid logging in to G***LE Playstore. Then install the apps:
- UV-Programmer, and then;
- WoAD
DOWNLOAD DIRECTLY: APRSDroid (forked version by NA7Q) is the highly recommended app
APRDdroid (with OFFLINE MAP capable)
Adding Offline Maps to APRSDroid (by KM4ACK)
If you don’t have GSF from the G-overlords an example might be running GrapheneOS then you need to go to Aurora store unfortunately instead of the UV Pro Programmer app.
Thanks for that! This is a recent discovery by AmRRON operators who couldn’t get the UV-PRO app (downloadable from amrron.com) to download and install. AND… it looks like this is the solution.
Appreciate you sharing the info here!
I may have missed this — but is AndFlmsg being recommended? I have been using 1.6.0 for at least a year with no problems; it’s great in the field. It can be located at the author’s github page .
