Can you trust your source? How do you know?
The Source and Information Reliability Matrix is an extremely helpful tool for rating your sources as Reliable, Unreliable, or unknown. And the information you receive… is it truthful? Logical? Plausible? Possible?
As you find sources bringing information that’s useful or of interest to you, begin the practice of “rating” your sources. Keep a list of reliable and unreliable (and everything in between). This is a helpful list for you to return to when a rapidly developing situation includes a lot of information coming in at a fast pace. It is also helpful for sharing what you know with others so they can know what level of trust to place on sources they not be familiar with. From the Army FM 2-22.3 Appendix B
