THIS SURVEY WILL CLOSE AT MIDNIGHT (Pacific) ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 1st
If you participated in T-REX 2025, be sure to take the survey! There will be an AAR and multiple debrief videos created based on your feedback, covering an overview and various topics and content.
Unfortunately I was not able to participate. I am looking forward to the next one.
I was able to receive a couple intel messages. I was not able to get Commstat to work. I would greatly appreciate some help with that from someone.

Well I had a good time!
I definatly need more practice…
Maybe one in the winter time (That would be much more difficult, I plan for the bad to happen in winter.
(which ot did for us in 2021 [flood no flow just rise <10" give or take the unknown unseen freeze action is semi shocking to over come, no one came to help, I bounced a few friends and closed conversation of certain family members]
GMRS saved me some… and regular CB
I stick to the motto no one gets left behind!
Comms are easy. Just get competent, read and understand the SOI and every whitepaper; and then do it about 4 times a week all year round, and then comms isn’t the tough part of T-REX.
This was the first year I ever signed up to be a participant. So, I don’t know know enough to say where AmRRON could improve because I think any short comings are my own. I will say this, I did not know what I did not know until I needed to know what I did not know. So, next year I will do better.
Not a formal AmRRON member (yet), but enjoyed the exercise.
What went well for me was:
– solar panels kept power station nicely topped-up
– was able to follow along the JS8Call and FLdigi (mostly)
Challenges:
– Could not figure out how to install CommStatOne
– Transceiver did not always automatically switch modes and I am not skilled enough at recognizing the mode visually; if it was not in Contestia or MFSK 31/32 I could not copy it (just gibberish on the receive pane)
Other Observations:
– Contents of scenario were interesting and would have been useful in a real disaster, e.g. safe evacuation routes
– In JS8Call, even with SPOT turned off and FILE > SETTINGS > REPORTING > ENABLE SPOTTING also turned off, I saw my brief transmissions were actually picked up by PSKreporter. Checked a couple of other people who were online on JS8Call and they were also “leaking” to PSKreporter.
Thanks for joining in! It’s sponsored and ran by AmRRON, buy by no means restricted to AmRRON only. It’s for the patriot/prepper community.

I was not able to get very much on 20m or on the 80m central time net, but I got everything in the Mountain time net. I was in Ft. Richardson State Park, TX.
After T-Rex I got the map to work in Commstat. I was missing a module and causing error messages.
Command prompt: C:\
“python -m pip install psutil”
without quotes
I installed that and it worked right.
The only issue I ran into was getting confirmation that my “inject” report was received. Suggest that always replying to received reports become SOP. That should greatly reduce the number of re-sends and the complications that can cause.
Update on Psutil install. This website may help.
