Enjoyed hearing of the real-world mission success for AmRRON operators. I was disappointed to hear of the attitude of the “organized” communicators.
There is nothing wrong with being serious about the task of EMCOMMs, but many of the organizational leaders have managed to suck the fun out of the activity. After all, these groups are made up of volunteers–trying to morph into some sort of paramilitary organization is just a bridge too far for most of us. No offense to the many fine and dedicated EMCOMM ops out there–but I am proud to be a small part of the AmRRON organization!
