Would like to setup Network in North Central Kansas – Salina
BUT not radio knowledgeable.
Have 70cm, 2-m, 5-m, and 10-m radio but need help setting it up
Have BearCat scanner and Uniden walkie talkie
I saw what you posted back in December. I’m guessing you’ve progressed some since then as far as equipment..? Either way, I’m in south-east Nebraska and routinely chat with folks in the Salina area on 443.575. I don’t know what repeaters they are using down that way but the one up here that I access is licensed to K0HAM. And I believe that setting up a net for this general area is viable as long as the repeaters are functional.
Here is the link for more information on starting a local net! Also consider running a simplex net. Or an informal simplex net to get your comms in order in case the repeaters are ever out. It would be great to have a local net in that area. https://amrron.com/net-resourcestools/join-or-start-a-net/
[…] A SSB enabled Short Wave Radio is something you should really have already. This is a receive only radio, a Short Wave Radio will allow you to monitor HF frequencies. You can also let us know you heard the nets by filling out the Net Check-in form. […]
Great point. Thanks for bringing that to our attention. It is mentioned in the Net Control page, but we will be putting up a posting explaining the NWOTW:

This article has information on the NWOTW. Let us know if you have any additional questions after taking a look at this! Thanks https://amrron.com/2016/09/12/what-is-net-word-of-the-week/
Brunswick County, NC CH.3 Project Net is now operational with check-in every Sunday at 22:00 ZULU.
Read the article and there was no information on what NWOTW means or is. Does anyone know?

I’m on the east coast and have been been able to connect to the 20M voice net using websdr.org
10/14/2023 Net check-in form isn’t working correctly. Please delete comment after repair. Thanks.
Haven’t been here in many years… got back into radio after a long absence…. and I am in shock at the extreme obtuse nature of this site.
Does everything have to made difficult?
I am amazed that I even got logged in after all of this time.
FWIW my paper SOI copy of the obtuseness is ver 4.2
