Relief fund for AmRRON members in the impact zone of Hurricane Helene

We are learning of AmRRON members in multiple states who have been directly affected by Hurricane Helene.  So far, thank the Lord, no injuries or deaths have been reported among our members.  However, many are in some of the hardest hit areas of the storm and its aftermath.  Those who are able to are continuing to send out SITREPs of the situation around them.  So far, they’re safe and in comparatively in great shape.

In once case in particular (South Carolina) we learned that one of our members had multiple trees down, destroying antennas and damaging the house (two trees) and a vehicle (one tree).  Neighbors are helping in that case, but we know there will be costs involved.  This fund is set up to help those who are in need as a result of the storm.  This is not for supporting the AmRRON organization or operations, but bringing relief to affected members.  Some examples may include:

  • Food/water/fuel purchases
  • Damage repairs and supplies
  • Insurance deductables
  • Equipment/vehicle rentals
  • Any other legitimate financial assistance in response to hardship brought on by Hurricane Helene

All donations will go to AmRRON members in need.  All dispersal of funds will be reviewed by the AmRRON Operations Advisory Committee and approved on a case-by-case basis.

ANY AmRRON member in need of relief, please email johnjacob@amrron.com.  Type ‘Relief’ in the Subject line, and explain your situation, and describe your need.  Don’t forget to include your AmRRON Call Sign!

If you are grid down, then send a message through the Persistent Presence Net, directing your traffic to QST Tier 5 and 6.

STAY SAFE EVERYONE, and thank you all for your consideration (and for doing such a great job on the air!)
