Beginning June 1st, 2023, the following changes will take effect. The Standard AmRRON membership will have a nominal fee, and the AmRRON Corps membership is going up slightly ($5). Thank you all for your support, and for your contributions to the greatest radio network in the world!
-
AmRRON Standard – $12/yr (we will honor the free membership for those who have already joined, up to the anniversary date of your membership)
-
AmRRON Corps – $45/yr ($365 Life membership)
- ‘Redoubter’ – Discontinued membership category
For more information, visit the ‘Join AmRRON‘ page to learn what benefits come with each membership.
For right now, the AmRRON Corps Life membership is simply a savings that will pay off for the member over time. However, we want to do something a little extra for the Life members, and we will announce that when we’ve made our final decision.
AmRRON CORPS MEMBERS CAN GO TO THE CORPS RENEWAL PAGE
I’m currently a Redoubter which appears to be going away. If I want to sign up for a Standard membership, do I have to fill out the membership form again since I guess I’m technically not a member currently?
Would I just use my current callsign as the “vanity” request?
Thanks.
Good question! The cleanest way to do that is to fill out a new Standard AmRRON application. Yes, if you’re currently signed up then simply place your AmRRON call sign in the ‘Vanity’ call sign field. We’ll know what it means and will confirm when we process the membership.
This brings up a couple questions and a concern.
1. If a member has already paid for the SOI and updates to it, will continued updates still be honored without additional payment or membership?
2. If a person is not interested in the member directory, contact forms, or newsletter, are they still invited to participate in the scheduled nets without a membership? Certainly you’re not suggesting that participation in nets conducted on amateur radio bands are now restricted to paid subscribers.
3. I worry that this might cause a decline in membership as free memberships are expired.
Thanks.
1. Sure
2. If they’re not interested in being engaged, there’s a good chance they won’t be active on AmRRON nets too. Part two to that question… we get visitors (non AmRRON) check ins all the time. You’re correct, we “certainly” aren’t suggesting nets are restricted to only paid subscribers.
3. Quality over quantity. Our experience shows that those who have invested in AmRRON, participate. Those who haven’t, don’t. If $12 a year is offensive to someone to support what we do, then, well…
I think the changes are a fantastic idea. All of them!

I believe the changes are a good thing, and made with the AmRRON members and participants in mind. Everybody likes a good program, and I believe that AmRRON definitely delivers that. That being said, we must keep in mind, that to operate any type of organization, even a volunteer one, or supply good content for the operators, and participants, certain things must be met. Foe example internet, paperwork, and or training, all of these things take time, energy, and material. I believe the minimal cost is under shooting the mark. As radio operators, we should be thankful for the hard work and time invested in our program. I for one am. JJS thank you for your time and experience, and the love you invest in us. The radio Operators
Seems cheap to me, for Corps membership, that actually works out to, 0.1 cents a day. For the amount of benefits and training received, that is a steel. I joined in 2016 and in my uninformed mind, I thought I was the radio man. Lol turns out I really knew nothing about true freedom, security, or being a good Patriot radio operator. Thanks to AmRRON, I have learned what it truly means to be a good radio operator. I know with the knowledge that I have learned in my short time in Corps, as things get progressively worse in our society, I have the confidence and training to be able to assist in restoring the network and will be a valuable asset to rebuilding America. AmRRON is the greatest, and valued part of my life now. Just the lifelong friendships that have been made with other Christian Patriots radio operators is priceless.
Good idea JJS, and a steal for the value added. Corps in particular is full of some of the brightest minds of any club I’ve participated in, and not just when it comes to radio. I learn about such wide-ranging topics as gardening, alternative energy, general preparedness, mechanics, history, and more on a daily basis. Keep doing what you do, it’s well worth a few dollars.
Thanks for the update! Looks like life time membership is in my future. $12 for basic membership is very reasonable for the amount of paperwork you guys have to do at HQ.
The corps membership is still the best value, especially for the resources and community you gain access to!
Corps is where all the cool kids hang out. Well worth the investment.
Evening,
JJS has been providing valuable content for years. This is completely reasonable. I have heard for years how JJS doesn’t like to solicit donations and I respect him for that, however, I heard someone say many moons ago….
