What are the primary frequencies that will be used? Asked because I’m encouraging people on a certain website to listen and learn what amateur radio is able to do in weirdness.
There are multiple frequencies and modes which will be used, depending on time of day. They are the same frequencies used during our regularly-scheduled training. However, the times will vary and are determined by the AmRRON Signals Operating Instructions.
Voice over HF radio is usually marginal at best, especially for passing formal messages, hence AmRRON’s of data modes to do the heavy lifting.
Personally, I’d HIGHLY suggest that all computers used for AmRRON radio data modes should ALREADY be air-gapped as SOP. Depending upon on-line computers for your emergency digital communication becasue of a cyber-attack is not wise. If AmRRON operators can pass traffic in Morse, this solves the computer problems entirely (in sert moans & groans here).
Still learning Morse here but I am slowly able to recoginze certain groups. Hopefully I’ll be up to speed when it counts!
heads up all.
not sure if i should post this here…
