“I thought nets were on the first and third week of the month. Isn’t this the first week of April?”
It’s easier to say nets are on the first and third week of the month. This can be just a bit confusing for our newer AmRRON members on months such as April 2021, when the 1st of the month falls on a Thursday.
It’s more accurate to say that ‘AmRRON National Nets begin on the first and third Wednesday of the month.‘
1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month National Net begins on the 20 meter band with a thirty-minute voice net, followed by a one-hour digital net.
It is that net which sets the tone and initiates the traffic for the nets taking place over the following week. It is this net that the Net Word Of The Week (NWOTW) is issued. During the digital net, other traffic is passed, such as the weekly AmRRON Intelligence Brief.
That evening on 40 meters, another National Net takes place, passing along the same information as the earlier 20m nets, and also begins with a thirty-minute voice net, followed by a one-hour digital net.
The following day (normally also the 1st and 3rd Thursday — except months like April 2021), Regional Rolling nets take place on the 80 meter band at 8pm with a thirty-minute voice net, and then followed by a one-hour digital net. Those nets take place in each time zone, beginning with the Eastern Time Zone, and ending with the Pacific Time Zone.
Information such as the weekly AIB and the NWOTW are passed along on these and all other AmRRON nets taking place across the country.
