In preparation for Cascadia Rising 2016, here is a resource non-HF-capable operators can use to tune in to HF traffic. Not only can you just listen, you can control the Software Defined Radio settings (including frequency) from your computer. The website, www.webSDR.org isn’t just for the June 7th through 10th exercise. It’s up and running year-round.
A great tool, but DO NOT LET THE INTERNET BECOME A CRUTCH! This is only to hold you over until you get HF receiving capabilities (Shortwave Radio w/ SSB or HF Ham Radio).
Thanks for the heads-up. I used this tonight for a bit. Worked great. Will have to use it for T-REX until I am able to upgrade my gear.
Thanks for this, I only have my Technician License thus far. I have my digital comms up for that, but this helps a lot so I can at least listen in the Cascadia event. I was wondering if anyone in AMRRON is work on mesh networks, like hsmm-mesh.org?
